Children’s Dining Manners & Etiquette Program

Teaching Respect, Confidence, & Courtesy – One Child at a Time

Children’s Dining Manners

A Fun, Engaging Way to Teach Kids the Social Skills They Need to Succeed

We believe that teaching children good manners isn’t old-fashioned — it’s foundational. Our Children’s Manners and Etiquette Program is designed to help children aged 6–17 develop essential life skills that foster respect, kindness, and confidence in everyday social situations.

In a time when screen time is high and face-to-face interaction is limited, we bring children back to the basics of meaningful human connection. Our program blends modern dining etiquette with timeless values, giving children the tools they need to interact positively at school, at home, and in the community.

What Makes Our Dining Program Unique?

Through interactive games, real-life scenarios like 4-course meals, delightful tea parties, and role-playing activities, children learn dining manners in a fun and realistic environment. Each workshop covers 20 topics, including appropriate table conversation topics, how to arrange a casual versus formal table, proper use of utensils and napkins, handling challenging and distasteful foods, and so much more!

Program Features

Our Children’s Dining Manners & Etiquette Program goes beyond table rules; it lays the groundwork for lifelong confidence. Designed to teach respect, courtesy, and proper dining behavior, this program presents essential table manners in a way that’s engaging, age-appropriate, and easy for children to use at home, in restaurants, and during special occasions.

We know children flourish when expectations are clear, and learning feels supportive. Each part of our program is thoughtfully structured to build lasting habits, strengthen social awareness, and boost self-esteem through positive, hands-on practice.

Practical Life Skills

We teach practical etiquette that children can use right away, from introducing themselves and making eye contact to digital manners and dining etiquette.

Certificates & Progress Tracking

At the end of the course, children receive a certificate of completion, curriculum handouts, and participate in a Graduation Showcase.

Success Stories

"My sons and I took a dining manners class with Back to Basics.  All of us learned a lot and I know the information we learned will help us in the future."

– Blythe Colton

Five stars! Mrs. Block attended one of our Cub Scout Pack meetings and gave scouts a lesson in table/dining etiquette, as well as addressed general etiquette questions from kids and parents, alike. In addition to being informative and entertaining, Ms. Block was kind and patient with the scouts. It was a fun lesson, and hopefully they retained some pointers to carry into everyday living - a scout is courteous! Thanks again, Ms. Block!
